WordPress for webpage3
Week 2 - Using the wordpress software to build my EDT6035 course webpage 3 was cumbersome at times. The most frustrating part was getting a link to a powerpoint file to open up and launch the presentation in a separate window. I did not want users to just read the file, I wanted them to hear it also and the only way I could ensure they "heard" it was to have it launch in the show. The solution I finally arrived at was to save the file locally as a .pps (powerpoint show) and then upload that file to google docs then provide the google doc link as the link on my webpage. See example here.

Week 2 Blog Activity - Mobile Access Plugin
iTouch mobile themes interferes with Wordpress mobile access plugin
Learning how to apply a mobile access plugin for my website was interesting. Downloading the software plugin for mobile access was the easy part. Refer to this video on how to download and activate the plug in. But on an iTouch device there are mobile themes which can be turned on and off which influenced the mobile access feature of the word press website. Above is my video that demos the difference when the theme is on versus off. Thank goodness for 13-year children who can figure this stuff out in their sleep - thank you JOSHUA!!! .

WEEK 1 BLOG ACTIVITY – TWITTER
I created my twitter account today and it was an interesting experience. I learned how to follow other tweeters, change my profile, upload a photo of myself and search for other tweeters. Searching was pretty simple due to the standard search window found in nearly all windows systems. The most helpful thing I learned with Twitter today however was the BrowseInterests tab on the WhoToFollow menu because it provided a list of tweeters who were already in a grouping for specific topics I am interested in professionally (Education, Business) and personally (Art & Design) It allowed me to search items you learned from using Twitter. Please include 2 or 3 sentences about why this item may be helpful to you and our profession.
